Terms & Conditions for STEM Arts & Crafts Sessions

Thank you for booking a place at The Wonder Workshop. Our aim is to provide children with a fun, creative, and educational environment where they can explore, experiment, make, and build confidence through hands-on STEM and arts-and-crafts activities.

By booking a session, you confirm that you have read and agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Booking & Payment

A place is confirmed once payment has been received.

Places are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please ensure that the information provided during booking, including your child’s name, age and any relevant information that may affect their participation, is accurate and up to date.

If you need to cancel a booking, please contact The Wonder Workshop as soon as possible. Refunds or transfers will be considered in accordance with the individual booking terms.

The Wonder Workshop reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a session in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, parents/carers will be notified as soon as possible.

2. Participation

The Wonder Workshop sessions involve hands-on making, designing, experimenting and practical activities. Children are encouraged to have a go, be creative and learn through experimentation.

Activities may include the use of age-appropriate craft materials, tools and equipment. Children will be given suitable instructions and supervision appropriate to the activity.

Children are expected to follow instructions and use materials and equipment safely and appropriately.

Parents/carers should inform The Wonder Workshop before the session of any relevant medical, allergy, SEND or other information that may reasonably affect a child's participation or safety.

3. Risks Involved

STEM and arts-and-crafts activities involve some normal and foreseeable risks associated with practical making and experimentation.

Depending on the activity, these may include:

Minor cuts or scratches from paper, card or craft materials.

Minor burns from equipment such as a low-temperature glue gun, where used.

Small knocks, bumps or trips.

Contact with glue, paint or other craft materials.

Use of scissors, hand tools or other age-appropriate equipment.

Small components presenting a choking risk for younger children.

Minor irritation or discomfort from certain materials.

Activities are planned with children's safety in mind, and appropriate precautions are taken to reduce risks. Children will be given clear instructions and supervised during practical activities.

Parents/carers acknowledge that minor accidents can occasionally occur during practical, hands-on activities, even when reasonable safety measures are followed.

4. Safety

Children must follow all reasonable safety instructions given by The Wonder Workshop.

Children must not deliberately misuse tools, materials or equipment or behave in a way that could put themselves or others at risk.

If a child is unable to participate safely in an activity despite reasonable support and guidance, The Wonder Workshop may ask them to stop the activity.

5. Behaviour

We want The Wonder Workshop to be a happy, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone.

Children are expected to:

Treat other children, staff, venues and equipment with respect.

Listen to instructions.

Use appropriate language and behaviour.

Allow others to learn and participate.

Use tools and materials safely.

Follow reasonable instructions relating to health and safety.

If a child's behaviour becomes repeatedly disruptive, aggressive, inappropriate or unsafe, we may speak with the parent/carer.

Where behaviour presents a significant or ongoing safety concern, The Wonder Workshop reserves the right to suspend or end a child's participation. Parents/carers will be informed of any serious concerns.

6. Collection & Attendance

Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring that children arrive on time and are collected promptly at the end of the session.

If someone other than the usual parent/carer is collecting a child, please notify The Wonder Workshop in advance.

If your child is unable to attend a booked session, please let us know as soon as possible.

7. Clothing & Personal Belongings

Children should wear comfortable clothing suitable for practical activities. Paint, glue and other craft materials may occasionally mark clothing, so old or protective clothing is recommended.

The Wonder Workshop cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged personal belongings brought to sessions.

8. Allergies & Special Requirements

Please provide details of any relevant allergies, medical conditions, additional needs or other information that may affect your child's participation.

Every effort will be made to accommodate reasonable requirements and to adapt activities where appropriate.

9. Insurance & Safety

The Wonder Workshop maintains appropriate public liability insurance for its activities.

All activities are planned with appropriate safety considerations, risk assessments and supervision.

These Terms & Conditions do not remove or limit any legal rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10. Agreement

You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.

You understand that the sessions involve practical STEM and arts-and-crafts activities with some of the associated risks.

You have provided any relevant information needed to support your child's safe participation.
